Wilhelm Gottfried Ploucquet

Wilhelm Gottfried Ploucquet (1744–1814) earned his doctorate in Tübingen in 1766 and taught medicine there from 1782.

His father, Gottfried Ploucquet, had taught logic in Tübingen — a formal logic in the tradition of Leibniz and Wolff. The family stands for the University of Tübingen as Hegel found it: learned, thorough, and alien to what was beginning in Jena.
