Karl Philipp Conz

Karl Philipp Conz (1762–1827) was a tutor at the Tübingen Seminary, professor of classical literature in Tübingen from 1804, and a friend of Schiller.

He taught Hegel at the Seminary and translated Epictetus’s Enchiridion — the same work Hegel had read as a schoolboy. Conz was among the teachers who presented ancient philosophy to the seminary students not as school material but as a guide for living.
