Christoph Andreas Leonhard Creuzer

Christoph Andreas Leonhard Creuzer (1768–1844) studied in Marburg and Jena, became a preacher in 1801, and professor of practical philosophy in 1803.

His skeptical objections to the derivability of freedom were among the things against which Hegel’s early engagement with Kant sharpened itself. He was a cousin of the classical scholar Georg Friedrich Creuzer, with whom Hegel would later have dealings in Heidelberg.
