The structure of the bounded, which is determined by its other. The finite is "ought" --- it strives beyond itself, but cannot remain with itself. Productive in Hegel: the finite compels toward the infinite.
Origin: Traditionally: the opposite of the infinity of God. In Hegel: dialectically mediated --- the truly infinite contains the finite within itself.
